Can't say that much has changed. I've started learning Mandarin with a friend and a friend's nine year old daughter, which is fun! We're being thin-shifted at work, so I now have more time to...sit and do nothing. And! I have finished my second Beowulf!

Maria Headley's translation is a 9/10, for sure. Worth reading the Tolkien for. I'm planning on purchasing my own copy.
