Let's go.
1. I love the graphics. The house map? So well done. Spot on. The props are also impeccable. Where did they get those photos from? They are...quite terrifying.
2. I appreciate that they're trying to do different, interesting things with this show. What keeps it from being overwhelming, gimmicky, or not quite self-aware enough is Ivan. He does an excellent job as the storyteller, and the fact that nothing can be as over-the-top as he is makes it all seem less absurd. He's just that good. The bit where he had Taliesin break the board is really what made it stand out for me. It's a pretty goofy bit, but he presented it with just enough panache that he made it work. He's more of a ringmaster than a narrator, and it works for this.
3. It also helps that this cast commits. I loved Satine's choice as Sat to not pull and just bring the consequences. Good drama.
